SolidWorks World 2012 Highlights

San Diego February 12th-15th – What do you get when you have almost 6000 people, hundreds of great SolidWorks technical sessions and hundreds of exhibitors in a partner pavilion to satisfy every technical SolidWorks requirement? SolidWorks World 2012! Check out the video below for highlights of Solidworks World 2012 from Javelin’s perspective:

Javelin attended this year and captured all the excitement. Watch the highlights as we step into the partner pavilion exploring the vendors showcasing their SolidWorks related gear and technology! See how CSWP’s were treated to amazing event on the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier. One morning SolidWorks even gave everyone attending a sneak peek at the SolidWorks 2013, it looks awesome! All this and a great block party for more than 4000 people (thanks to HP and SolidWorks).

For one evening a few blocks of the historical Gaslamps district was closed off for great food, beverages and entertainment on every corner. Javelin attended, busy learning more about the great technology we support. Some of the Javelin folks were even showcasing technical information in the breakout sessions. Next year SolidWorks World is off to Orlando, Florida!

Did you attend? How was your experience at SolidWorks World 2012? Will you be attending the 15th SolidWorks World in Orlando at the Swan and Dolphin on January 20th-23rd 2013? Please let us know.

P&ID Integration between E3 and SolidWorks

Many clients are looking for further integration between SolidWorks piping and process design and the schematics that dictate them.  In SolidWorks 2010, P&ID import was introduced but there was no clear contendor at creating the appropriate XML file.  This has changed over the last couple years because E3 has done the appropriate development to create the XML and integrate the two together.  At SolidWorks World in San Diego this year I have decided to put together a detailed presentation on how to do this integration.  Here is the presentation details:

P&ID – A New Design Flow for Piping – Eric van Essen, Javelin Technologies

E3.WireWorks intelligent schematics can be set up to quickly map out P&ID diagrams, which can be used as the driving force for P&ID imports in the SolidWorks routing module. This presentation will talk about the details required to set up the solution and make it work to drive your pipe routing.

P&ID Event is on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, 10:30 AM, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, USA

If you are able to make your way down to the conference, it would be great if you could come by and attend my session. Visit the following link for the SolidWorks World agenda, list of exhibitors, justification letter, and more: http://www.solidworks.com/sww

All Free: Airfare to San Diego, Hotel Room and a SolidWorks World 2012 Conference Pass!

I love Winter! I can’t wait for it to start!

Wait, wait… before you start throwing things at, let me state that I love the part of winter that brings lots of champagne powder snow on the ski slopes (not the snow we need to shovel at 6 in the morning), the winter that sends Santa Claus to all the kids in the world and especially the 3 days in the middle of winter when The SolidWorks World is opening its doors to all of us SolidWorks aficionados.

As you know The SolidWorks World Conference and Exhibition 2012 — the premier global event for 3D design, simulation and product development — is just 2 months away. Attending the “World’s” offers the perfect opportunity for discovering new SolidWorks techniques, evaluating complementary technologies, learning about future developments networking with SolidWorks users worldwide and getting invited to cool and nerdy parties every night.

I am pretty sure that those of you, who haven’t had a chance to attend such a conference before would be very excited to know that there is a way to get there for free. Not only the conference pass will be paid by SolidWorks, but they will also pay for your airfare and hotel room, plus all the food and drinks you can consume at the events.

Flying Car

SolidWorks is seeking stories from users based outside the United States. They want to know why you want to come to SolidWorks World 2012, what the benefit would be for you and your business, and what you hope to achieve with the knowledge you would gain at the show.
The more intriguing the post, the more likely you are to be chosen, so make sure you include details such as whether you like your martinis shaken or stirred and if you’ve ever designed a camera ring, a flying car or a shoephone.

The winner of this contest wins a full SolidWorks World 2012 conference pass, as well as a hotel room for three nights and round trip airfare to and
from San Diego, California.

For more details about how to enter this contest, please read this post in the SolidWorks Blog.

Good luck and have fun in San Diego!!!

The SolidWorks World 2012 special event will take place in San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter
