Saving Time and Energy with Automatic Creation of Wiring Diagrams

Saving Time and Energy with Automatic Creation of Wiring Diagrams

Wiring diagram creation can be time consuming. When creating a new project, drawing a wiring diagram can be helpful to the development process as the engineer works through technical issues and fine tunes the design.

However, when re-creating a design from existing sources, it is not necessary (or a good use of time) to redraw the wiring diagram when tools exist to create these diagrams automatically. Since wiring diagrams are necessary for documentation and servicing, the need for these drawings will be around for a long time to come. The question is, when and how to do it? What are the advantages and the drawbacks?

A. Landry Fabrication combine SolidWorks and Zuken E3.WireWorks for a new model of Tree Harvester

Faced with eager customers and a ripe market opportunity, the company used a combination of SolidWorks CAD and Zuken electrical CAD software to quickly complete a successful design.

The Results

  • Created an intelligent database for connecting components
  • It would have taken A. Landry more than twice the time to complete its design with other software.
