Type Full Time Position
Location Various locations in Ontario, particularly Cambridge, Waterloo, London Areas.
Description You will be responsible for direct sales to potential clients in an assigned territory. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and growing client relationships and ensuring that they fully understand the benefits of SolidWorks, and other solutions Javelin offers. If you are new to sales we’ll help you with training to improve upon your natural abilities.
Min. Experience 2 - 3 years of Design or Technical Sales experience
Education BS Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred.
Requirements We are looking for people who understand our customers and can help them understand our solutions. Our customers are involved in mechanical design and manufacturing. Our Solutions are technical and heavily focused on CAD. If you “get” people, and “get” technology, then that’s what we need!
  Must have demonstrable professional sales skills and solid references as well as excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience selling products competitive to SolidWorks is a big plus but not required. In addition, you will also possess the ability to function in a team atmosphere, appreciate aggressive goals, and have superior, communication skills, organizational/time management skills, and a make-it-happen attitude.

Responsibilities It is your responsibility to insure that customers understand and receive the benefits of a SolidWorks/Javelin Technologies solution to meet their CAD and project needs:
  • Initiate sales activities to stimulate, encourage, establish and develop account relationships for SolidWorks products and services.
  • Provide territory management data: forecasts, account management documentation, and activity reports to management providing the basis for sales planning.
  • Identify, evaluate and respond to key business issues of the account and develop, present and demonstrate SolidWorks and Javelin's capabilities to the potential customer.
  • Introduce and integrate our technical team as well as SolidWorks and Solution Partner resources to the customer to demonstrate capability, educate customer personnel and facilitate project management.
  • Develop, deliver and lead implementation of professional technology proposals

Requirements 3 to 5 years experience in Technology Solutions / Software Sales with strong knowledge of the MCAD industry preferred. Consistent track record of successful sales shown by over goal performance of selling software technical solutions.

PDM Applications Consultant

Type Full Time Position
Location GTA, Mississauga, Ontario
Description We are looking for a person who can inspire manufacturing and design companies to become better organized and then help them do it. We need a person who can listen to customers, help them define their requirements, manage a project, configure the system and teach the users. This job will involve some pre-sales demonstrations but is more focused on post sales implementations.
Min. Experience 5 years industry experience.
Education BS Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
Requirements As our application consultant you'll work with the sales force to help define customer requirements and discuss the ROI and benefits of a PDM solution. You'll also demonstrate the software and inspire confidence in the customer.
  Once an engagement begins you'll have full responsibility for scheduling events with the customer to ensure the tools are implemented on time, and on budget, while meeting all requirements.
  You'll train the customer, gather detailed requirements, and then configure their system to behave properly. Then you'll train the end users of the system. The customer will then say how wonderful it was to work with you. While you are the prime person on these projects there is a team to back you up. You'll be responsible for teaming up to learn and get jobs done quick. You'll also take calls from existing customers and answer their technical questions.
 

Technical

  • Should have some experience with business software implementation
  • Some experience with business process mapping
  • Some industry experience with mechanical design and Solid Modeling, SolidWorks, Pro E, Inventor, Solid Edge etc
  • Well versed in Microsoft Windows and MS Office products
  • Some understanding of Networking and Databases
  • Programming experience would be a plus but is not required 
  • Familiar with one or more PDM or Document Management Systems
  • Familiar with Microsoft Project

Industry experience

  • Familiar with implementing change

  • Consulting experience, internal or to other companies is a plus
  • Understands Engineering processes and terms

  • Understands document management principles and best practices

  • Training experience is an asset

Presentation

  • Highly organized
  • Articulate
  • Has excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Somewhat familiar with managing projects
  • Able to travel to customer sites very regularly

Applications Engineer

Type Full Time Position
Location Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Description Provide comprehensive Post Sales Technical Support for SolidWorks including training, product positioning, and help desk support. Serve as primary technical liaison for assigned geographical or account territory.
Requirements Good knowledge of the MCAD industry coupled with a BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering and 2 to 3 years' experience. Proven strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent customer relations skills. Must have CAD and/or solid modeling experience and actual design work experience.
 

Technical

  • 1 year minimum of SolidWorks experience
  • Other CAD experience is a plus - Pro/E, Inventor, SolidEdge, AutoCAD
  • Well versed in Microsoft Windows and MS/Office products
  • Some understanding of Networking
  • Any experience with downstream applications (FEA, PDM, Electrical.) is a plus.

Industry experience

  • Understands Engineering processes and terms
  • Understands Solid Modeling processes and techno speak
  • Machine design experience with emphasis on Assembly
  • Any industry experience is a plus (e.g. Product design, Tooling design, Mold Design, Industrial design)

Presentation

  • Communicates well - Speaks clearly and concisely. Able to establish eye contact and engage the prospect.

Profile

An Applications Engineer is an individual who is very well spoken, fast learner, has a lot of energy and is able to project his/her energy onto others.  S/he will be able to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.   Innate problem solver, resourceful, with the ability to multi-task and be patient with customers.
