What is included with PropertyLinksXpress?

In addition to the property management tools PropertyLinksXpress also includes SolidWorks BOM and Drawing templates that are pre-configured to work with the properties that PropertyLinksXpress stores in your SolidWorks documents. Want to use your own drawing templates? No problem, you can copy and paste the linked annotations from the supplied templates into your own.

What are Custom Properties?

Custom properties are text values used to populate annotations, BOM's (Bill of Materials), and drawing templates in SolidWorks. They should be added to your parts and assemblies so that when a drawing is created the Title Block, BOM, and Notes are automatically filled in with the related model information.

Activating PropertyLinksXpress and System Options

After you have downloaded and installed PropertyLinksXpress you then need to ensure the add-in is active in SolidWorks. A PropertyLinks menu and toolbar will be loaded for you automatically. The drawing templates included with PropertyLinksXpress will also be available to you, and you can also check that these are setup under your system options.

Adding Properties with PropertyLinksXpress

PropertyLinksXpress allows you to quickly and easily add custom properties to your parts, assemblies, and drawings via the SolidWorks PropertyManager.

PropertyLinksXpress Administration

Included with PropertyLinksXpress is an Administration application which allows you to fully configure the PropertyLinks interface and assign presets and defaults for custom property data entry. The data files used by PropertyLinks can be stored in a central location so that all users on a network share a common set of data.
