SolidWorks Learning Path for obtaining industry related skills

When obtaining training from Javelin Technologies Inc., we ensure you get the training that is right for you.  The information below lists the courses that we recommend in order for you to get the most out of your SolidWorks products and obtain the skills required for the Mold Design industry.

Mold Design Industry

Phase 1: Initial Basic Training (4 Days)

          SolidWorks Essentials Course (4 days)
The focus of this course is on the fundamental skills and concepts central to the use of SolidWorks.  The student will learn how to use SolidWorks to build parametric models of parts and assemblies, and how to make drawings of those parts and assemblies.

Phase 2: Industry Specific Training (10 days)

SolidWorks Assembly Modeling Course (3 days)
The focus of this course is on exploring the use of advanced assembly techniques and functionality. The student will learn how to maximize the use of assembly modeling techniques, large assembly management and best practices.

SolidWorks Part Modeling Course (2 days)
The main goal of this course is to teach the student how to build multibody and complex shape solid models using SolidWorks.   The student will learn how to maximize the use of multibody design, sweeping, lofting, spline generation and other advanced part modeling tools in SolidWorks.

SolidWorks Surface Modeling Course (2 days)
This course will teach the student how to use surface features to build parts using SolidWorks. Most of the case studies and exercises are taken from consumer product design applications, and the lessons center around the combined use of solids and surfaces. The student will also learn industry standard surfacing terminology necessary to understand a ground-up surfacing modeling approach.

              SolidWorks Mold Design (1 day)
The focus of this course is on the use of mold tools and techniques in SolidWorks. The student will learn several mold creation practices including: applying shrinkage, using draft, creating the core and cavity, utilizing undercuts, side cores, lifters and core pins features as well as repairing surfaces.

SolidWorks Simulation Essentials Course (2 days)
The focus of this course is an in-depth coverage on the basics of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), covering the entire analysis process from meshing to evaluation of results for parts and assemblies. The class discusses linear stress analysis, gap/contact analysis, and best practices. Results of these analyses can then be used to optimize designs and reduce the number of actual physical prototypes.
