Javelin in collaboration with Fleming College through a SkillsAdvance Ontario project, is offering fully funded, COVID safe live SOLIDWORKS training for steel and aluminum manufacturing and metal fabrication workers located in Eastern Ontario.

About the funding program

The Eastern Ontario College Consortium / Consortium des Collèges de l’est de l’ontario consists of five eastern Ontario colleges (Algonquin, Fleming, La Cité, Loyalist, and St. Lawrence Colleges) funded by the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities through SkillsAdvance Ontario.

The consortium is offering workforce development support, including no-cost SOLIDWORKS training for the steel and aluminum and metal fabrication sector of Eastern Ontario.

Training for steel and aluminum manufacturing and metal fabrication workers

  • CAD software
    SOLIDWORKS Essentials

    Metal manufacture and fabrication workers can learn the SOLIDWORKS basics with the Essentials course from Javelin.

    Real life case studies are used to illustrate processes, teaching you the essentials for building parametric models of parts and assemblies, and generating production drawings.

  • Funded sheet metal
    SOLIDWORKS Sheet Metal

    In the SOLIDWORKS Sheet Metal course you will learn how to build complex sheet metal parts, and convert solid bodies directly into sheet metal.

  • SOLIDWORKS Weldment
    SOLIDWORKS Weldments

    The SOLIDWORKS Weldments course is for users who design structures made out of components with constant profiles. The course will teach you how to use the weldment tools which can provide you with a 90% time saving when compared to the traditional assembly workflows.

  • GD&T training
    GD&T Training

    GD&T training is designed to help designers, manufacturers, and fabricators better understand and interpret production drawings using the GD&T, ASME Y14.5-2018 standard.

    SOLIDWORKS Advanced Part Modeling

    The Advanced Part Modeling course is for SOLIDWORKS users who need to create complex parts and want to learn how to use more advanced features; including sweeps, lofts, boundaries, and every type of fillet.

    Learn how to use the SOLIDWORKS CAM software to generate, modify and post process  milling and turning toolpaths used for the machining of SOLIDWORKS part files

We'll contact Fleming College on your behalf to determine if your business is eligible for the Eastern Ontario College Consortium SkillsAdvance Ontario funding. And assist you in the completion of the funding application.

3 Take an Online Course

After funding approval you'll be able to take a FREE SOLIDWORKS training course scheduled for Q1 2021. Courses are delivered live over the web with a certified instructor. It's the same in-class experience from the safety of your home.
