Have you been wondering where those pop-up dialog boxes with options have disappeared to? If you checked off options like “Don’t ask me again”, then what you select will be the default and you will not see the dialog box again. This post shows how to restore your dismissed SOLIDWORKS Messages.
Although this can save time by not having to click an extra button every time, some dialog boxes contain more options that you may wish in the future. For example below is the message that displays after fixing a feature and there are errors in features below. If you select “Continue (Ignore Error)” the entire tree will be visible with all errors. If you select “Stop and Repair” the tree will be rolled back to only show one error. If you were to select “Don’t ask me again” and select “Stop and Repair”, every time you fix a feature and the are additional errors it will automatically roll back your design tree. You may discover that you want to see this dialog box again to have the option.
So how do you re-enable a dismissed message? Go to Tools > Options > System Options tab > Advanced. There will be a list of all dismissed messages. Simply select the one you would like returned and click OK. If you re-enable the wrong one, you only need to select “Don’t ask me again” when the message pops up in the future!
