EPDM – How to locate the Archive Server Log

The Archive Server log for Solidworks Enterprise PDM can help find potential problems relating to the archive server.  In some cases Javelin Technical Support request this log file to help troubleshoot Solidworks Enterprise PDM.

To copy the archive server log file:

  1. In the Administration tool, right-click the archive server name and click Show the Archive Server log.

  2. The log file opens in the right pane.
  3. In the Log File dialog box, click Copy log file (in toolbar).
  4. The complete log file is copied as a .cog file to the Windows clipboard. The file name is the name of the archive server.
  5. To save the file, paste it:
    • On the desktop
    • Into a folder
    • As an attachment to an email or other document
  6. To open and view the file, double-click it.  The Enterprise PDM Administration tool opens with the log file displayed in the right pane
