In an older blog I showed how to get your models on your iPad using 3DVIA.com

Now I want to show you that once you have your files on 3DVIA.com you can do more than just view them on your iPad. You can make them a 3D experience.  At Javelin, we have a state-of-the-art 3D theater where you can view your model in 3D, using 3D glasses.

Once you have the model on 3DVIA.com you can use the viewer to see it online. This is neat, but is nothing that eDrawings can’t do.

From here, you are going to select the Send To option, and send the model to scenes and then choose to create a new scene. There are eleven different scenes to choose from. For this blog I am going to use Tropical Island, because it is raining and miserable outside right now.

What I have done is placed my Javelin model as a “sand castle” in the tropical island scene. When you do this an avatar will appear and you can walk around your scene using the arrow keys on your keyboard. You can also go from third person to first person view by scrolling your mouse wheel forward or back.

On the left hand side of the screen shot there are symbols that allow you to modify your model. In order to view your project in 3D, all you have to do is click on the button that the arrow is pointing to in the screen shot. If you are not in the Javelin theater then your screen will go blurry.  However, if you are in the theater, then you will see how real the 3D view makes your model, as many of us experienced at the Javelin Open House event on August 23, 2011.
