EPDM – Resetting ‘sa’ password

If the ‘sa’ password for your vault is forgotten or lost, the password can be reset in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.

Start Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio form Windows Start>All Programs

launch Mangement studio

 

Log into the SQL server using Windows authentication

Right click on your server, in the Object Explorer window and select Properties.

Select the Security tab, of the Service Properties dialogue box, and check that server authentication is set to SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode. If is not, select this option and restart the SQL service or server.

Back in the Object Explorer window, expand Security> Logins and then right click on the ‘sa’

account and select Properties.

In the General tab of the Login Properties dialogue box enter and confirm the new password.
