Now that you’re the owner of a shiny new MySolidWorks Professional license, what do you do with the serial number you just received?

MySolidWorks is a web page – where does this serial number go? You have have looked and haven’t located a spot. And unlike SOLIDWORKS, there is no Installation Manager to plug it into.

Well, I’m happy to provide you with some guidance.

Registering MySolidWorks Professional

IMPORTANT: If you’re a CAD Administrator or Engineering Manager looking at a long list of MySOLIDWORKS Professional serials, they have to be assigned to a specific user and distributed to that user with the instructions below. This is an operation you cannot complete yourself on their behalf as the license is associated to their individual SOLIDWORKS Customer Portal account.

STEP 1: Login into your SOLIDWORKS Customer Portal account. If you do not yet have an account, you’ll need to create one. Here’s instructions about how to go about that: http://www.javelin-tech.com/blog/2011/10/sw-customer-portal/ It’s an oldie, but a goodie.

STEP 2: Once logged into your Customer Portal account, locate the Register My Products link; as seen in the article referenced in prior step.

STEP 3: Follow the steps as prompted to complete the registration of your NEW MySolidWorks Professional serial. Upon successful completion, you should now have access to all the Professional features. If you do not immediately gain access, you may have to wait 24 hours.

To learn more about the additional features you get with the Professional package of MySolidWorks, which includes all the features of the Standard product, PLUS 100+ hours of online learning and CSWP Prep Course, visit Professional Features for a complete product comparison matrix.
