In some cases, we may need to show SOLIDWORKS grid lines in our drawings or sketches for reference. To set grid and snap options you can click Tools > Options and on the Document Properties tab, select Grid/Snap.
I recently received a call from a customer asking:
“Why do I have grid lines in my printed drawing when I have deselected the ‘Display Grid’ option in my Document Properties?”
Fortunately, the answer was easy. The setting that controls printing the grid lines is not in the SOLIDWORKS settings but in your printer’s settings. If you go to File and click on Print, SOLIDWORKS will open the print window. In the lower left corner, you can see Print grid check box. Deselect that box to stop the printer from printing the grid lines.
