The SOLIDWORKS Simulation 2016 Mesh Enhancement includes a new Blended Curvature-Based mesher and an option to Calculate Minimum Element Size.
Blended Curvature-Based Mesh
If your mesh failed using the standard or curvature-based mesher, you may want to try the new blended curvature-based mesher.
This new mesher is more than an alternative for previous mesh methods. Improved algorithms are used in this new mesher, which provides a high-quality surface mesh. This mesher delivers more efficient global mesh. Furthermore, edges in areas not of interest do not have excessive mesh detail. Note that this blended curvature based mesh is not supported for h-adaptive and p-adaptive methods for static analysis.
Minimum Element Size Calculator
In addition, a calculator is available to calculate the minimum element size of the mesh. Wherein, the minimum radius of curvature from geometry and/or minimum element size from mesh control can be taken into consideration in order to calculate the minimum element size of the mesh.
