Sometimes you need to add a relation to the midpoint of a sketch line or a model edge.  In past releases, this was accomplished by either drawing a Construction line and attaching it to the midpoint, or by right-clicking on the line/edge and choosing “Select Midpoint” before applying the relation.

Previous Versions - Linking a Construction line to the midpoint

Past SOLIDWORKS Versions – Linking a Construction line to the midpoint

Past SOLIDWORKS Versions - Right-click on line or edge and choose "Select Midpoint"

Past SOLIDWORKS Versions – Right-click on line or edge and choose “Select Midpoint”

New in SOLIDWORKS 2016 is the enhanced feature of Dynamic Highlighting Midpoints of sketch lines and model edges.  Simply move your cursor over the midpoint and it is now selectable in order to apply your relations.
