Have you ever tried to apply a Broken view to your flatten view in a SOLIDWORKS drawing? If the answer is yes, then you have probably noticed that sometimes the bend line notes disappear when you add the break lines to the view.
Also it seems like SOLIDWORKS does it randomly. So your best guess is this should be a bug. Well, it is not. But why does it happen and how can you fix it?
What is a bend note?
To answer those questions, we need to know what is a bend note in the first place. Bend notes are actually an annotation, every SOLIDWORKS annotation is composed of 2 elements: the annotation and its attachment point. Now If the attachment point of a bend note falls within the break lines, the bend note will disappear.
Solving the problem
To see the attachment point of an annotation you need to display it with its leader. The leader of a bend note is turned off by default. But you can show it by selecting the bend note and clicking on “Leader” icon under the property manager.
Then you can move the attachment point outside the break line area by dragging and dropping it. This time as you can see the bend note doesn’t disappear. After that you can select the bend note one more time and under the property manager click on “No Leader” to hide the leader.
