Where can I get the What’s New documentation for the latest release of SolidWorks?

This is a question we are asked periodically when SolidWorks has made a new release of their products available. It’s not that SolidWorks users are looking for bedtime reading to place on their night-stands. Typically the SolidWorks user-base is evaluating if they should update to…

Warning: Where are the Sheet Metal Flat Pattern Controls in SolidWorks 2013 SP0, SP1 and SP2?

My SolidWorks 2013 Pick of the Day is the cleaner feature manager structure in the Sheet Metal environment introduced by SolidWorks 2013. While the new folder structure is an important benefit for users, it introduces a major danger for people who are not familiar with the new interface. Alin’s SW2013 Pick of the Day – Fast Edge Selection

When applyIng a fillet feature to a lot of edges, the most time consuming part is selecting them. In SolidWorks 2012 and prior, selecting edges based on rules was available only when using the FilletXpert. Because of that, the user’s options were restricted to applying constant radius fillets only. Starting with SolidWorks 2013, this functionality has been extended to manual fillets, offering fast edge selection for constant and variable radius fillets. This video presents two different techniques for saving time while filleting. In more complex models, these workflows can potentially save minutes or even hours of what it is in the end a very boring and repetitive task.
