Try Resetting SOLIDWORKS Windows Registry Entry<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In this article we will run through the exact same concepts for <strong>resetting registries for SOLIDWORKS Electrical<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps you may have experienced one of these issues before&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SOLIDWORKS Electrical\u00a0showing only the splash screen and not actually launching?<\/li>\n<li>Toolbars missing unable to be retrieved?<\/li>\n<li>System crashing when loaded<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Any number of other bizarre and seemingly random errors can all be symptoms of a corrupt registry key.<\/p>\n<p>You may be able to correct this with a SOLIDWORKS Electrical registry reset.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>WARNING<\/strong>: Please be very careful when editing or deleting any entries in the Windows Registry as changing the wrong entry can lead to major issues on your system.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Also if you have SOLIDWORKS PDM installed on your system do NOT\u00a0follow these steps<\/strong>, instead please contact your SOLIDWORKS\u00a0Value Added Reseller for additional instructions. Note that Javelin is not responsible for any changes that you make to your system, the following is just a guideline.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>SOLIDWORKS Electrical Registry Reset steps:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Close all instances of SOLIDWORKS Electrical<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Launch the Windows Registry Editor<\/strong>. \u00a0(In Windows XP go to the Start menu and click Run and type: regedit ; In Windows Vista or Windows 7, or Windows 10 go to the Start menu and type: regedit)<\/li>\n<li>In the Registry Editor expand\u00a0<strong><em>HKEY_CURRENT_USER<\/em><\/strong>then\u00a0<strong><em>Software<\/em><\/strong>, right-click the\u00a0<strong><em>Trace Software<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0entry and select Rename.\u00a0 Rename the entry something like\u00a0<strong><em>Trace Software _Backup<\/em><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div id=\"attachment_28953\" style=\"width: 790px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.javelin-tech.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/regreset.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-28953\" class=\"wp-image-28953 size-large lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.javelin-tech.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/regreset-780x522.png\" alt=\"SOLIDWORKS Electrical Registry Reset\" width=\"780\" height=\"522\" title=\"\"><p id=\"caption-attachment-28953\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-28953 size-large lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.javelin-tech.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/regreset-780x522.png\" alt=\"SOLIDWORKS Electrical Registry Reset\" width=\"780\" height=\"522\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.javelin-tech.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/regreset-780x522.png 780w, https:\/\/www.javelin-tech.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/regreset-300x201.png 300w, https:\/\/www.javelin-tech.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/regreset-768x514.png 768w, https:\/\/www.javelin-tech.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/regreset.png 897w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 780px) 100vw, 780px\" \/><\/noscript><\/a> Windows Registry Editor (click image to enlarge)<\/p><\/div>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>Launch SOLIDWORKS Electrical<\/strong>.\u00a0 When the program starts\u00a0<em>it will create a new registry entry in this location <\/em>called\u00a0<strong><em>Trace Software<\/em><\/strong>. \u00a0Once SOLIDWORKS Electrical\u00a0opens, it will be as if the program is starting for the first time.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong>How to undo this operation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If the problem you were experiencing is gone, great!\u00a0 If not, and you want to undo the process of resetting SOLIDWORKS Electrical Windows Registry, no problem, that\u2019s why we only renamed the Trace Software\u00a0entry and didn\u2019t delete it.<\/p>\n<p>Simply go back to the Registry Editor, refresh the display by pressing F5 to show the new entry, and rename the new Trace Software\u00a0entry (again best not to delete it until you are sure everything is back exactly as before) then name the old one back to Trace Software.<\/p>\n<p>If the issue is fixed you are now left with essentially a fresh copy of SOLIDWORKS Electrical, meaning any customization you have performed will be lost.<\/p>\n<h3>Learn more about SOLIDWORKS Electrical<\/h3>\n<p>Attend a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.javelin-tech.com\/main\/training\/solidworks_electrical_training.htm\">SOLIDWORKS Electrical training course<\/a>\u00a0either in a Canadian classroom near you or live online.
