Originally it used to be installed with SOLIDWORKS Electrical up to SOLIDWORKS 2016 SP4. But with SOLIDWORKS 2016 SP5 and onwards it was removed from the installation manager because antivirus applications often detected a potential threat which would result in SOLIDWORKS Electrical installation failure.<\/p>\n<p>If you need to save SOLIDWORKS Electrical schematics as PDF, the SOLIDWORKS Electrical PDF creation utility can be downloaded separately.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_30617\" style=\"width: 790px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30617\" class=\"wp-image-30617 size-large lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.javelin-tech.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Print-Drawings-_SW-Electrical-780x594.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"780\" height=\"594\" title=\"\"><p id=\"caption-attachment-30617\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30617 size-large lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.javelin-tech.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Print-Drawings-_SW-Electrical-780x594.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"780\" height=\"594\" title=\"\"><\/noscript> Print Drawings Dialog Box and Options<\/p><\/div>\n<p>To resolve this issue, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Copy all files from \u2018C:\\Program Files\\SOLIDWORKS Corp\\SOLIDWORKS Electrical\\GhostScript\\bin\u2019 and paste them in \u2018C:\\Program Files\\SOLIDWORKS Corp\\SOLIDWORKS Electrical\\GhostScript\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Open the registry editor and navigate to \u2018HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Trace Software\\SolidWorks Electrical\\Services\\\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Change the value of the \u2018PDFPrinterName\u2019 registry key from \u2018TsPs\u2019 to \u2018PDFCreator\u2019. If the \u2018PDFPrinterName\u2019 registry key does not exist, create it as a new string value.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to \u2018HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Trace Software\\ SolidWorks Electrical\\Settings\\CustomTempDir\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Change the value of the \u2018CustomTempDir\u2019 registry key to a path that does not contain a space. For example; \u2018CustomTempDir=c:\\temp\u2019. If the \u2018CustomTempDir\u2019 registry key does not exist, create it as a new string value. Make sure to use a path that actually exists. If you do not follow this step, the &#8216;Export PDF files\u2019 function will not return an error, but it will not create a PDF file.<\/li>\n<li>Install or reinstall the PDFCreator software from <a href=\"http:\/\/download.pdfforge.org\/download\/pdfcreator\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/download.pdfforge.org\/download\/pdfcreator<\/a>.\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Select a setup language and click on the &#8216;OK&#8217; button.<\/li>\n<li>On the Welcome page, click the &#8216;Next&#8217; button.<\/li>\n<li>In the &#8216;Select Components&#8217; section, disable &#8216;PDF Architect 4.<\/li>\n<li>Click the &#8216;Next&#8217; button.<\/li>\n<li>Click the &#8216;Install&#8217; button.<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;PDF Architect &#8211; Install PDF Architect with great free features&#8217; click on the &#8216;No thanks&#8217; button.<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;Get Web Companion PRO for FREE&#8217;. Select &#8216;No, don&#8217;t protect me&#8217; and click on the &#8216;Next&#8217; button<\/li>\n<li>Click the &#8216;Finish&#8217; to complete install.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you install the PDFCreator software, a dialog will prompt you to install the Web Companion add-in for your default homepage and PDF Architect 4. SOLIDWORKS Technical Support recommends that you select the \u2018No, don\u2019t protect me\u2019 option to decline the installation of both of these applications. PDF Architect 4 may interfere with enabling other SOLIDWORKS add-in products.<\/p>\n<p>Once PDF Creator is installed you should be able to create PDF&#8217;S and print Electrical drawings with no issues.
