Ontario Government Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Press Release

Oakville-based Javelin Technologies has become a leader in the high-tech computer industry while creating good jobs for Ontario families.

Javelin helps Canadian design and manufacturing companies implement 3D design technology, which produces a digital model and a 3D prototype that customers can actually hold in their hand.

Javelin Technologies provides more than 50 Ontarians with good jobs having added 10 new staff over the past 18 months.  The business will move to a new technology centre in April 2011 and plans to hire another five employees. The company started with two employees in 1997 and received expertise and resources from the Small Business Enterprise Centre in Halton region, supported by the province.

Ontario has also invested $100-million investment in Ford of Canada’s $1.1-billion state-of-the art flex manufacturing plant in 2004, keeping 4,200 jobs in Oakville.  And the province supported Fifth Light Technologies Ltd. of Oakville, a lighting technology company that produces sustainable electricity solutions, with a grant of $3.75-million – which will create 86 jobs and support 14 existing jobs.

Partnering with businesses supports the province’s five-year Open Ontario plan to create new job opportunities and promote economic growth.
