First-of-its-kind training in SOLIDWORKS Visualize now available from Javelin Technologies

Learn more at a free introductory webinar on May 18 or June 1

Oakville, Ontario – (May 11, 2016): 3D CAD software users who want to learn more about the new SOLIDWORKS® Visualize photo-rendering tools can now turn to Canada’s Javelin Technologies for training.

As part of the SOLIDWORKS 2016 release, every licensed user of SOLIDWORKS Professional and Premium now has SOLIDWORKS Visualize Standard. It allows designers to make images and animations that bring their 3D CAD models to life and to clearly demonstrate the vision of a design – to both technical and non-technical decision makers.
Javelin’s own Alen Topic and Scott Ellery designed a training course specifically to help users build skills and expertise in Visualize. Javelin is the first SOLIDWORKS supplier in the world to offer such training. On May 18 and June 1, Ellery will deliver a free webinar to give users a preview of what Visualize can offer. One participant in each webinar will win free enrollment in the full training course.

“Visualize is just waiting for our customers to discover and master it,” says Derryl Caillemer, who leads the education solutions team at Javelin Technologies. “In today’s design environment, you have to be able to produce top quality industry content easily and quickly. Everyone involved in a product’s design, marketing, and sales expects to see accurate, impressive graphics during the process. And honestly, Visualize is fun to use.”

Designers or marketing and sales professionals can generate top quality, lifelike photos and videos for product comparisons, design reviews, marketing materials, and even interactive experiences. They can show their products in different scenes, and with different lighting and artistic filters. Visualize accurately simulates real-world lighting and advanced materials and surfaces, while scaling rendering performance. Users can add movement, create 360-degree spins, or even animate the sun. And because Visualize is connected directly with SOLIDWORKS, models are automatically updated throughout the design process.

Live training, in class or online

Javelin’s instructor-led course can be taken in classroom over two days (for Visualize Standard) with an optional third day for the more advanced Visualize Professional version. Online, the course runs for three days at four hours a day.

The course will teach participants to create photorealistic renderings of part and assembly documents, apply scenes and lighting, apply advanced visual effects, create and apply decals to models, and use cameras effectively. Visualize Professional users will learn more advanced scene and lighting applications, as well as animation and motion.

“The course takes a task-based approach,” Caillemer says. “We use real life case studies to teach the necessary commands and workflow to set up, manage, and complete any rendering task.”

Focused on training and ongoing support, Javelin is a reseller for SOLIDWORKS® software and a full range of Stratasys 3D printers that can produce finely detailed, true-to-life models and parts. Javelin is online at and on Twitter as @javelintech.
