Physical threads were always a bit challenging when it comes to making them in SOLIDWORKS. In 3DEXPERIENCE Works, you have the freedom to choose from a variety of standards to make either cosmetic or physical threads.
In this article, we will create a simple female thread using the SOLIDWORKS xDesign App on 3DEXPERIENCE Works.
In the action bar under the “Features” tab you will find under the “Hole” feature a drop-down arrow, then you will find the “Thread” feature.
This brings up a menu where you can choose a variety from options, including a physical cut thread. You have several standards and thread types to select from.
In the latest release of 3DEXPERIENCE 2023, the thread feature now supports equations so you can utilize the power of parametric modeling and drive changes with design intent using equations for thread parameters.
