The Stratasys Connex3 Multi-Material Colour 3D Printing technology has been enhanced with the new Stratasys Creative Colours Software, powered by the Adobe 3D Colour Print Engine, blending colours is now a breeze. Simply create a design in Adobe Photoshop, add your colours and textures, import the graphic into Stratasys Creative Colours tray manager, and 3D print the model*.

What is the Connex3?

The Stratasys Connex3 is a full colour multi-material 3D printer. With its ability to combine vivid colour and multiple materials, the Objet260Objet350, and Objet500 Connex3 are the only 3D printers that empower you to simulate the precise look, feel and function of finished products. With a wide range of advanced material options and dozens of composites, your designs will come to life as realistic models earlier in the design process.

Learn how legendary Hollywood special effects studio Legacy Effects use Stratasys Connex3 printers to create memorable characters for such blockbusters as Avatar, Pacific Rim, Robocop and Iron Man.

Adobe Colour Management for Connex3

Stratasys sells the first and only 3D printers offering Adobe colour management, meaning what you see on Adobe Photoshop is what you get out of your 3D printer. The best part about all this is you don’t have to buy a new printer, all existing Connex3 printers can be upgraded with a simple software add-on to handle the new Gradients, Graphic texture mapping, Automated Colour assignment & Automated Geometry fixes to support 3D printing.

Blending Colours with the Connex3

You can quickly add logos and any other graphics to your 3D printed parts now adding a new level of quality with every print you make. It is important to note that these colours actually go through the entire solid – they are not just a surface finish. Unlike paint, you will not be able to scratch away the patterns created.

The wide variety of gradients can be explored by observing the colour changes in each triangle

For certain applications this will make your PolyJet models look much more visually appealing, selling the idea you are trying to showcase. Architectural models, for example, can be printed with bricks, stones, wood and numerous other textures & patterns. The same will apply to industrial designers showing proof of concept for their projects. I don’t even have to explain how great the benefits are for modern art applications.

*Note that this can only be done using the vero series of resin on Connex3 printers.
