SolidWorks Installations – Ensure Full Permissions with Local Admin Accounts [VIDEO]

When you are about to install/upgrade/modify SolidWorks on your workstation, it is very important to be logged into the computer as the Local Administrator account.  This account will have full permissions to all files, folders and registry keys.  When trying to install SolidWorks under a user account with limited permissions, the installation can fail or cause problems down the road.

We’ve seen with some machines where logging in as a Domain Administrator may not allow full access to the local machine.

Here is a method to determine if you are in fact logged in as the Local Administrator account.
