One of my favorite enhancements to the SOLIDWORKS interface is a new addition to the Status Bar, the document Unit System quick access button.

SOLIDWORKS Document Units Quick Select
This new feature has two great functions, first it immediately shows you what unit system the current document is using, which can be extremely useful when working parts and assemblies originally created by colleagues or suppliers.
Secondly it provides quick access to change these unit system settings. In previous releases users had to dig through the documents options to reach the Unit settings (Tools > Options > Document Properties > Units). But now simply clicking on the new Unit System button will bring up a list of preset unit types that the user can choose from, as well as the option to jump immediately into the Unit settings window where any custom unit settings can be chosen.
