Article by Scott Durksen, CSWE created/updated June 27, 2013

Within the Design Library in the Task Pane, there is database of SolidWorks files provided by suppliers and other users.  This can be helpful to browse for suppliers and insert their stock parts into your models.  Or you can become a supplier yourself for millions of users to use your parts in their assemblies.

  • The User Library gives you access to models generated by users like you.  This can save you time if you just need to throw in something like a knob into your model for representation.
