With all the new improvements to advanced functionality and all the new functionality in SolidWorks 2014, it’s no surprise that this tiny but time-saving enhancement is not widely talked about. But I noticed this little gem and decided to share it with you.
While creating a Cut Extrude, I noticed a new option: “Through All – Both”
Curious, I tried it. The result is exactly what I was expecting: it enables the Direction 2 option and sets it to Through All. This saves me 3 clicks each time I want to do this, and considering how often I want to do this, it will really save me a lot of time! Knowing that I can do this means that I can change the way I create cut extrude features. So, go forth and use this new functionality.
