How to Add a Header to a SOLIDWORKS BOM Table

Article by Saeed Mojarad (CSWE) updated July 27, 2016

Recently I was asked by one of our customers if it was possible to add a header to a BOM table in SOLIDWORKS. Fortunately, the answer is yes and here’s how you can do it.

After inserting a BOM table, and while it is still selected — you can see that directly below the four-way arrow cross in the top-left corner is a table cell containing two small triangles pointing up.

Sometimes it is hard to see the arrows. So you may need to zoom in to that location to see the triangles. Clicking on this cell will add a header to your BOM table.

Like any other cell in the BOM you can double click on the SOLIDWORKS BOM header to edit it.
