How to handle Duplicate BOM Line Items in SOLIDWORKS Manage

For situations where instances of an item contain variants, such as colour or finish, Duplicate Line Items can be added to a SOLIDWORKS Manage BOM. Before thus can be done though, the Duplicate Line Item functionality must first be enabled by the SOLIDWORKS Manage Administrator.

This is done from Administrative Options.

Next edit an Object, by right-clicking on it or double-clicking it.

From the Object’s Properties, select the BOM tab and Edit the BOM

In the SOLIDWORKS Manage BOM Properties select the ‘Other Options’ tab and check ‘Allow duplicate part numbers’.

When a user is editing a BOM variant associated with the Object, Duplicate Line will be available from the right-click mouse menu.
