What is SolidWorks Electrical 2013 Software?

Article by Delvin Masilamani updated November 25, 2012

We at Javelin Technologies are excited to introduce SolidWorks Electrical 2013 software, the latest product in our Electrical catalogue.

There are a few features that make this Electrical product appealing to more than just the electrical user base. SolidWorks Electrical works seamlessly with SolidWorks CAD bringing the mechanical and electrical design world together. Projects can be managed better between mechanical and electrical design teams when the application is used in a client-server setup.

SolidWorks Electrical is available in 3 packages

SolidWorks Electrical 2D:This application is a 2D Schematic design tool which simplifies electrical design and gives the user the ability to turn concepts into detailed designs. The application contains a library of more than 500,000 standard electrical parts.

SolidWorks Electrical 3D: This allows for real-time, bi-directional updates between 2D and 3D to synchronize electromechanical designs. The application works as an add-in to SolidWorks CAD connecting SolidWorks Electrical 2D systems-level schematics to 3D designed with SolidWorks. Some benefits include unified BOMs and ability to plan electrical design in mechanical space.

SolidWorks Electrical Professional (2D & 3D Combined): This application includes the functionality of both SolidWorks Electrical and SolidWorks Electrical 3D in a single application for users working in both 2D and 3D areas of electrical development.
