How to download additional Materials for SOLIDWORKS Simulation [VIDEO]

Article by Irfan Zardadkhan, PhD, CSWE, last updated on March 1, 2018

One of the most challenging aspects of conducting realistic structural simulations is obtaining reliable material data. SOLIDWORKS Simulation offers a wide range of additional materials that can help you with better design simulations. SOLIDWORKS Simulation Professional and SOLIDWORKS Simulation Premium users with active SOLIDWORKS Simulation Subscription Service can download SOLIDWORKS Simulation materials from a much larger library via the online SOLIDWORKS materials portal.

NOTE: Additional materials are only available for the SOLIDWORKS Simulation Professional version and above.

The extended material database is provided through a partnership with Matereality LLC.

You can search for materials based on the type of simulation study you want to perform, or the material model you want to use. Materials downloaded from the online SOLIDWORKS materials portal are automatically added to the materials list available in the SolidWorks Simulation Material dialog box.
