SOLIDWORKS Simulation Study Advisor

If you start your new Simulation studies from the CommandManager, you will notice that the “Study…” button will actually launch into the Simulation Study Advisor by default. This tool determines which time of study you are looking to run and what criteria is needed in the end. It will create a new study for you and add a sensor for the results required.
However once you get familiar with the types of SolidWorks studies, it is much faster to create a new study yourself and add any sensors or plots as needed. Creating new studies can be done via the Simulation menu > Study, or right-click on the Motion Study tab at the bottom and choose “Create New Simulation Study“. But it can also be created from the drop-down in the Simulation CommandManager tab.
If you use the CommandManager to create new studies, there is an option so that the Study button does not automatically run the Study Advisor. This can be found under Simulation > Options > General Options.
Now when you click on the Study button, it will bring up the two options instead of defaulting to the Study Advisor.
