A new and improved interface to manage attributes and settings directly from the symbol in the graphics area has been added in SOLIDWORKS Electrical 2016.

Edit Attributes from Schematic Symbol

When right-clicking on a symbol within your project we have the option to edit attributes as we always have, however once we select “Edit Attributes” we are prompted with a new interface which allows for greatly improved usability and understanding.

These attributes can be edited directly from this interface.  In addition to this we can also add new custom attributes as well as new predefined SOLIDWORKS attributes.  Adding a new predefined attribute will now open the “Attribute management” window that contains all existing attributes that we are familiar with from the edit symbol attribute management interface.

This in my mind is a vast improvement over the 2015 interface which allowed for editing and adding attributed, however did not contain a list of all existing attributes so in this case it was necessary to remember and manually type in each individual existing attribute.
