SOLIDWORKS User Interface for 2016

SOLIDWORKS User Interface for 2016

The recent changes in the SOLIDWORKS User Interface for the 2016 release has created quite a buzz.

Users who had just seen the new version expressed shock and dismay, especially in regards to the new colour scheme. Users who had used SOLIDWORKS 2016 for more than two weeks, stated they now like the new interface so much, they would never consider going back to the old one.

Invariably in such situations, all kind of conspiracy theories started flying around on the SOLIDWORKS forums and blogs. Let’s put them to sleep.

Today we have the official response presented directly by the man responsible for the change, Mr. Tom Spine, User Experience Design Director, DS SOLIDWORKS R&D.

Please watch this video to hear Mr. Spine explain why the change was made to the SOLIDWORKS UI.
