If you need to transfer your part, assembly, or drawing files from one machine to another; or send them to someone else, Pack and Go comes in handy. The tool is especially useful if your files are scattered in different locations on your machine. You just need to open the main assembly or drawing file and Pack and Go will gather the files and save a copy in a specified location.

Retain Checkbox Settings

In SOLIDWORKS 2017, the state of the checkboxes in the Pack and Go window are retained. Previously, all checkboxes were cleared each time you ran Pack and Go. Now the checkbox settings need only be set once and they stay the same unless you change them.

Short and Relative Folder Path

In addition if the “Flatten to single folder” option is not selected, SOLIDWORKS 2017 Pack and Go uses short and relative folder paths, whereas previously, the entire path was used causing problems with the Windows 256 character limit.
