SOLIDWORKS 2017 Crop and Detail Drawing Views feature new Outline options

SOLIDWORKS 2017 provides more control over the outline of Crop and Detail drawing views. You can now make a Crop or Detail view with a jagged outline or with no outline at all.

To create crop views with jagged outlines simply select a crop view and in the View PropertyManager, under “Crop View” select Jagged outline. You can change the intensity of the jagged outline by moving the slider bar under “Shape Intensity”.

The process for a detail view is the same. The only difference is that you can find the “Jagged outline” option under Detail View in the related PropertyManager.

Drawing View No Outline

In some cases, you may want to remove the outline[s] of your Crop and/or Detail views. Now in SOLIDWORKS 2017 that is also possible. Simply select the Crop or Detail view, then from the PropertyManager and select No outline.
