Starting with SOLIDWORKS 2018, the SOLIDWORKS Inspection Add-in supports creating reports from SOLIDWORKS part and assembly models.  Balloons can be added to model dimensions, notes, GD&Ts, and hole callouts created in SOLIDWORKS MBD or using DimXpert.

Inspection reports can be exported to Excel, eDrawings 2D PDF and where SOLIDWORKS MBD is installed, to 3D PDF.

Supporting new file formats

SOLIDWORKS Inspection 2018 Standalone supports new 2D and 3D file formats:  DWG/DXF; CATIA V5 CATPart, CATDrawing and CATProduct; PTC and Creo Parametric files; 3DXML.  The following images show file formats that can be added to a project in SOLIDWORKS Inspection 2017 and 2018.
