“Shift-Drag” Drawing Dimension Trick

While teaching a SolidWorks Essentials course, I had a student show me a drafting trick that I had not seen before.

As you can see from the screen shot above, I have added a dimension to the front view. Now let’s say my Engineering manager decided that the dimension needs to be on the top view instead. Usually I would delete the dimension and try again but…
I can shift drag! This will move the dimension to a different view, and save me from having to start over again. Awesome!!
