SOLIDWORKS EPDM – Default Values in Search Card

Article by Joe Medeiros, CSWE updated May 30, 2014

Default values can be assigned to variables so that when a search is used, one or more fields will have a predefined default value. For example a default value can be added for the search path.

Default values are added by selecting the background of the Complete Search data card

Then select the Default Values button

From the Default Values pull-down, select the variable list and pick a variable you would like to assign a default value to

This approach can be used for other variables, such as Workflow and Workflow State. Default Values can also be used on other Data Cards, such as File cards.
