SOLIDWORKS Simulation 2016 Bolts and Pins on the Same Part

SOLIDWORKS Simulation 2016 now supports the ability to apply Bolts and Pins that start and end on the same body.

Bolt Connector

For Bolt connectors, be sure to apply the “Bolt series” option under Advanced Options to the hole faces of other components that are sandwiched in between.

Here you can see in the figure below the bolt is now connected to the same part and the analysis results are displayed.

Pin Connector

Use the Pin Connector to keep the hole faces of the same part concentric and have the option to prevent rotation and translation.
