SOLIDWORKS Electrical 2017 Interface Updates

The SOLIDWORKS Electrical 2017 interface updates and user experience changes are a delight to work with:

1. Process Ribbon update: Renumber document and Propagate data to connected objects buttons have been added. Just like all other steps in the design process this change assists in the intuitive use of the software. Click here to read more on Propagate data to connected objects

2. Copy with Insertion point: You can now copy graphical entities with an assigned insertion point. The elements can be pasted back using the paste or paste special command. The elements are preserved and can be used either in the same project or another.

3. Data File Shortcuts: Various file types can be linked by shortcuts to the project through this new interface addition.

4. Graphical / CAD Properties: Simply selecting region of within a project launches the new panel for Graphic /CAD properties on the right hand side. So now it is possible to make changes to graphic properties by sheet. Changes can be made in a group selection in the project to the following:color, layer, line-type, weight, scale, thickness.
