SOLIDWORKS 2018 all uppercase characters is a new option that can be applied to tables. All table types have this option. Previously you could only set Note annotations to be ‘All Uppercase’.
As an example, if your components are named with lowercase characters in an assembly, this carries over into the BOM table by default.
You can select the overall table and find the ‘Text Format’ section in the PropertyManager to enable the option ‘All uppercase’.
In the event you need a specific cell(s) to be uppercase/lowercase, you can select the cell and use the ‘All uppercase’ button in the pop-up toolbar.
To make all tables default to use All Uppercase, this can be found under Tools > Options > Document Properties > Drafting Standard. The option ‘All uppercase for tables’ will apply to any NEW tables added. Previous versions had the option ‘All uppercase’ in Drafting Standard but this only applied to Notes. This has been renamed to ‘All uppercase for notes’ for clarity.
