SOLIDWORKS Performance Test will help you select the right Workstation

Article by Andrew Lidstone, CSWE updated May 31, 2019

Are you looking for a new SOLIDWORKS workstation?  You may have already reviewed the latest Hardware Recommendations available on our website, but you may still have several possible systems left to select from. Wouldn’t it be great if you could see actual, real world SOLIDWORKS Performance Test Results from each of those systems to know which ones will work best for you?

Actually, you probably can.  Way back in SolidWorks 2011 a new benchmarking tool called the SOLIDWORKS Performance Test was introduced.  Since then, tens of thousands of users have chosen to publish their results to the Share Your Score web page that SOLIDWORKS maintains.

This is a great resource when shopping for a new workstation.  You can compare different system configurations in a searchable format, showing Overall performance, Rendering performance and Simulation performance.

Simply type in the computer model, or even the specific component you are looking for information on, into search field.  The results will be filtered to show you exactly what kind of performance you can expect if you decide to go with that option.

The next time you are looking for a new system take a few minutes to review it’s stats on the SOLIDWORKS website.  This can help ensure you get the right system for your application.  And, once you have your new SOLIDWORKS powerhouse running, why not take a few minutes to run the benchmark tool and post your own scores for the benefit of other SOLIDWORKS users who are trying to decide what they should buy.
