Filetypes in your Design Library Folders

If you’ve added your working directories to the design library (see the post “Using the Design Library for Quick Access to Files“), you may have noticed that it shows all parts and assemblies in alphabetical order. It can sometimes be difficult to determine what files are parts and what files are assemblies. One method to determine the filetype is to hover over the file and wait for the preview to pop up. This will give the file name along with the extension (.sldprt or .sldasm).
There is another option that allows you to show only assemblies in this folder. This will make it easier to locate your subassemblies. Simply right-click on any folder in the Design Library and choose “Assemblies Folder.” This will only show assembly filetypes in the preview window.
