SOLIDWORKS 2017 now gives you the ability to create transparent section views! Instead of a section view that completely cuts away the model. We can now designate components to be displayed as transparent. SOLIDWORKS Transparent section views leave a ghosted view of the sectioned off quadrant; but still gives us a clear look at the internal components as shown in the example below:

Transparent Section View

Transparent sections are useful for designing around other components, and the section transparency is recognized automatically in PhotoView 360! Which means you can communicate your ideas with some quick concept renderings.
