SOLIDWORKS 2019 now has the ability to apply Display Data Marks to part configurations. This allows you to open complex parts with Quick View mode and choose between the configurations marked. Quick View mode is a fast way to open your part files for review. No features are visible and only the graphical data is loaded. This saves time by not rebuilding the file. To switch back to edit mode after opening in Quick View, right-click anywhere on screen and ‘Edit’.
In the assembly environment, this functionality was previously available. It was called ‘Large Design Review Mark’ such that opening assemblies in Large Design Review mode would have access to the various configurations. In SOLIDWORKS 2019, this has been changed to ‘Display Data Mark’ to be consistent with the added part functionality.
The Display Data Mark saves graphical information from each configuration selected. Without two or more configurations set with the data mark, only the last active configuration will be available.
You can set the Display Data Marks for all configurations (or select configurations) by right-clicking on the top of the Configuration tree.
