New in SOLIDWORKS 2021 are Synchronize options for the configuration of a component pattern, for instance if we need components to be all the same configuration.

Some instances use different configurations than the seed

Some instances use different configurations than the seed

When patterning components in a SOLIDWORKS assembly, there have for many years been options to vary the configuration of any pattern instances, so that some use a different configuration than the pattern seed.  However, sometimes we need to ensure that all instances use the same configuration as the seed.

All pattern instances use the same configuration

New in SOLIDWORKS 2021, we can block any variations so that all pattern instances use the same configuration as the seed.  The setting is found in the Options section of the pattern’s property manager.

Check this box to block variations

Checking that box also disables the Referenced configuration controls under Component Properties.

Checking the box greys out these controls

And the result in the assembly…

All instances now use same configuration as seed
