Flexible Retrieval of Referenced Files During Check Out – new in SolidWorks EPDM

The manner in which referenced files are handled during check-out can now be controlled by an administrator. These options control whether reference files will be automatically selected when performing a get latest. To use these options Auto select reference files to get latest when checking out, must be selected, in the User Settings.

The options are:

• Check out files silently without showing the checkout dialog box. This option hides the Check-out dialog box and prevents referenced files from being checked out.
• Try to check out all referenced files when the referencing file is checked out. When a user checks out a file all referenced documents are checked out if possible.

If both of the options are selected, then all possible references will be checked out automatically.
