SOLIDWORKS Simulation 2017 now enables you to edit multiple Contact Sets at the same time. This enhancement can be a big time saver if you need to make a quick change to the properties of several Contact Sets in your Simulation studies. You can also change multiple Contact Sets of different types to be all the same.
Simply use Shift or Ctrl to select multiple contact sets and Edit Definition. The entity selection cannot be modified as each Contact Set has independent selections, but the Type and Properties can be changed.
When selecting multiple Contact Sets of the same type (i.e. several No Penetration contacts), the properties of the first Contact Set in the tree will be picked up.
When selecting Contact Sets of differing types, you will be forced to convert all to a single type. You can select Bonded, No Penetration, Allow Penetration and Shrink Fit sets simultaneously.
While you can edit multiple Virtual Wall contacts at the same time. Virtual Wall contacts cannot be included while selecting other types. A warning will be given to either say “Yes to edit all EXCEPT the Virtual Wall”; or “No to only edit the Virtual Wall contacts”.
Thermal studies allow you to select all types of contact simultaneously to convert to a single type (Thermal Resistance, Insulated, Bonded).
