Downloaded zip files can be ‘Blocked’ by Windows and this can prevent an executable, such as the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager from running correctly. To avoid this, the SOLIDWORKS Installation zip file should first be ‘Unblocked.’

To ‘Unblock’ a zip file, right-click on the file and choose properties.

Editing Properties of a Zip File

In the Zip file Properties, check ‘Unblock’ and click on ‘Apply.’
