Adding SOLIDWORKS License[s] to an Existing SolidNetWork License Manager (SNL)

SOLIDWORKS 2023 has made it quicker and simpler for CAD administrators to add SOLIDWORKS license serial numbers. Previously, the installation of the SOLIDWORKS SolidNetWork License Manager Server needed to be modified to add and remove network serial numbers.

Please check your version number and use the appropriate instructions to add your new license.

In 2023, CAD administrators can now use the Product Activation Wizard from within SOLIDWORKS SolidNetWork License Manager Server to add and remove serial numbers for perpetual and term licenses.

Add Licenses to SOLIDWORKS 2023 and Later:

1. On the License Server, open the SolidNetWork License Manager Server application.
2. On the ‘Server Administration’ tab, click the ‘Modify’ button.

3. Check ‘Activate/Reactivate your product license(s)‘, and then select ‘Next’ twice.

4. You’ll see two new buttons added to this dialog: ‘Add’ and ‘Remove’.
   • To add: simply select ‘Add’. You can type or paste multiple serial numbers. Separate them by line.
   • To remove: highlight the license(s) that you want removed and select ‘Remove’.

5. Select ‘Next >’ to add the license(s). This automatically activates product license(s).

1. On the License Server, Open ‘Control Panel’ and access ‘Programs and Features’.
2. Find ‘SOLIDWORKS SolidNetWork License Manager’ in the list of installed programs. Highlight it, and then choose to ‘Modify/Change’ (via right-mouse click or from the Programs and Features dialog).
3. Click ‘Next’, and then select the ‘Modify’ radio button

4. Click ‘Install’.

5. Add or remove any serial numbers in the text box. Separate serial numbers with commas. Click ‘Next >’.

6. Once the installation has been modified to include all necessary serial numbers, open the SolidNetWork License Manager Server product on the server.You may get prompted to activate. If so, select ‘Yes’. If there is no prompt to activate:
   1. On the ‘Server Administration’ tab, click the ‘Modify’ button.

1. 3. Click the ‘Select All’ button, ensure the radio button is selected to activate “Automatically over the Internet”, provide a valid email address, and then click ‘Next >‘.
